From the end of August, the Royal Palace in Oslo is closed for the season. If you still want a glimpse of that royal touch, check out HM Queen Sonja’s Jubilee Collection at the Royal Stables.
When HM Queen Sonja turned 80 on July 4th 2017, 164 Norwegian artists donated one work each to her as a gift. The artworks, which consist of graphic art, have become an exhibition open to the public. It’s located in what used to be the royal stables building behind the Royal Palace, that upon until this summer wasn’t open to the public. The old stables have been used for storage since World War II but were converted into an art venue – a gift from His Majesty The King to the queen for her birthday. It opened as an art stable on July 5th. The Jubilee Collection for Queen Sonja in the Art Stables is only open until the 24th of September, so we suggest you go visit it before the exhibition ends. From the 29th of August to the 24th of September, the exhibition stays open from Tuesday – Sunday from 11.00 – 17.00.
