However you spend your time in the city that has it all, there’s plenty of breathing space in between the popular attractions – quite literally, as this previous winner of the European Green Capital Award has a huge proportion of green spaces including woodland and forest. Happy Nobel Day! 💡 As Nobel Week was cancelled in 2020, Nobel lectures, prizes and banquets were replaced with Nobel Week Lights – light installations inspired by Nobel Prize-awarded findings and laureates. It’s a contested issue amongst numerous Baltic connected countries as to who invented the Ice-skate. Was it the Finns or the Dutch? All of this is irrelevant because the best city to ice-skate in is Stockholm. A few hundred years ago, if you asked a Norwegian how old they were they might reply “I have seen forty winters!” Every year of life was a success! Now, living conditions are of course much improved, but there is no such thing as a mild winter here. Bring thermal underwear, wool and grow a beard… if you can. ❄️☃️☃️
Of course, if you love the snow and want to ski, then you`re in the perfect place, and you get to see the beauty of Oslo in a truly Nordic light! The canvas of white snow – unpredictable but usually arriving in November/December – can provide a canvas of light across the city that makes up for the few hours of sunlight the people of Oslo get to enjoy. While still beautiful, it`s best to stay inside! ✨✨

The temperature might not be super-cold in Winter in Copenhagen, but strong winds make it quite chilly. 🌬 The city is still quite magical. 🌟 The Christmas markets open already in the middle of November so that you can warm up with a hot Gløgg! Expect 10 to 13 rainy days per month.
