It’s one of the oldest traditions and festivals in Sweden, and one of the biggest events of the year in Stockholm. Of course we’re taking about Stockholm Jazz Festival.
For 10 whole days (7th – 17th of October) there will be jazz in Stockholm. Or, how does 160 concerts at 36 different venues sound to you? Among the stages we find Haymarket by Scandic, Konserthuset (Stockholm Concert Hall), S:ta Clara Bierhaus, Södra Teatern, Vasateatern and of course night club Fasching, which is hosting this year’s festival. During the festival you can go and see “normal” concerts at the different venues – huge as Stockholm Concert Hall or small and intimate at S:ta Clara Bierhaus – or go to “jazz soup” at Kulturhuset (Stockholm House of Culture & City Theatre), which is exactly what it sounds like: eating soup whilst listening to jazz.
