Copenhagen Shore Excursion, the Works (Private)Book this tour now
COPENHAGEN. 4hrs. Copenhagen, the works! Join us for a 4-hour walking tour, a shore excursion, to see all there is to see of Copenhagen. The Mermaid, Rosenborg Palace, and a Canal Cruise - what more could you possibly want?
We start our Shore Excursion of Copenhagen at Langelinie, where the ship docks. This will be your first encounter with Copenhagen, and oh, it’s good! This all in one pier, promenade and park has been the home of strolling Danes for centuries. Now it’s your turn!
We start by walking past Kastellet (the Citadel), one of the best-preserved fortresses in Northern Europe. This military plant was constructed in the early 1600s in the form of a pentagram.
Soon enough we will meet a lady you might perhaps have seen before - she’s dressed in bronze and rest quietly on her hip. Of course, we’re standing in front of Den Lilla havfruen (the Little Mermaid). This poor lady has seen much in her 100-year life - in 1964 someone sawed her head off and in 2007 she went pink.
Bid your farewell to the little statue and say hello to Amalienborg Palace! This is the home of the Danish royal family and consists of four identical palaces. Look at the guards in their fancy costumes.
Off we go to the line of houses everyone drops their jaws at and go “I want to live here!”. Welcome to Nyhavn, famous for its brightly colored townhouses from the 16 and 1700s, located on the waterfront. Did you get a photo of your Facebook-post? Good, it’s time to go!
Now it’s time to get on a boat - for a short boat tour of the city! Since Copenhagen is filled with canals and is very accessible by water, this is a fabulous way to see a lot in a short amount of time.
When your legs have gone stable again, we continue our Shore Excursion of Copenhagen by going to Kongens Nytorv (the King's New Square). This public square is the largest one in the city.
Speaking of kings, it’s time to move along to our next royal destination - Rosenborg Palace! This tiny palace is surrounded by beautiful greenery, Kongens Have (the Castle Gardens).
