OSLO. 3hrs. Polar ships, daring explorers, and a picturesque northern capital. Join us on an adventure, Oslo & Fram Museum Private Driving Tour, where we’ll explore the city of Oslo on a scenic drive and their polar pride, the Fram Museum.
While many think of bears when they hear the word polar or the movie Frozen when hearing the name Norway, many Norwegians may think of the Fram and the polar expeditions of many brave Norwegian explorers. On this adventure, Oslo & Fram Museum Private Driving Tour, we’ll explore the capital of Norway and their polar pride, the Fram Museum.
Driving through the picturesque city centre of Oslo in our private vessel (aka vehicle), we’ll cruise past many of the city’s main attractions. We’ll discover the Oslo Opera House, the Royal Palace, Oslo Cathedral, and the waterfront area of Pipervika, where we’ll find the Nobel Peace Center, Oslo City Hall and Akershus Fortress. Our drive then takes us to the green peninsula of Bygdøy, home to many of Oslo’s museums, including the Fram Museum.
At the Fram Museum, we’ll hear the stories of the three Norwegian polar explorers: Fritjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup and Roald Amundsen, and their expeditions to the very North and South. Enter the ships they sailed with, and be amazed by the bravery and commitment that the men showed in the extreme cold of the Arctic and Antarctic.
Our adventure ends back in the city centre, where we picked you up. We hope that you enjoyed your expedition through Oslo and Norwegian polar history, leaving you wanting to join us on another expedition in Oslo, or perhaps in Copenhagen or Stockholm!
