Oslo Opera, Royal Palace, Fram Museum, and Vigeland Park – what are Oslo’s Highlights, you ask? According to us, all of these! And it just so happens that our Oslo Highlights Private Walking Tour covers them all and more, from A to Z.
The story about the tour
Sculptures, polar adventurers and buildings that look like icebergs protruding out of the sea are a few of our favourite Oslo Highlights we can’t wait to show you! Need more detail, maybe? Put on your most comfortable walking shoes; it’s time to hit the town. We’re off to emerge ourselves in the very best of the Norwegian capital.
First up, a walking tour of the city centre. We’ll cover the As to Zs of Oslo, with everything from the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony held at Oslo City Hall to great Norwegians throughout history at The National Theatre, The Royal Palace, Parliament and Akershus Fortress. Having seen the city centre, we tram it up to Frogner district to stretch our legs and breathe the fresh air of the world’s largest sculpture park.
Entering through the gates of Vigeland Park reveals a spectacular sight to behold. The many sculptures of Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland come in the form of a monolith, a fountain, a wheel of life, and everything in between. Enjoy a guided tour in the park before we pick up the bus out to another green area of Oslo, home to many of the city’s most visited museums.
Picture a time when there were no satellites, no Google Maps, no aeroplanes, and no crystal-clear knowledge of how the world looked. Then imagine that you still decide to travel to the Earth’s poles. Madness! We have arrived at the Fram Museum, where we’ll introduce you to Fritjof Nansen’s, Otto Sverdrup’s, Roald Amundsen’s, and their polar adventures. Fearlessness and extreme conditions make for some pretty exciting expeditions, not to mention stories.
Bussing back to the city centre, hours have passed, and you have seen all of Oslo’s gems on our Oslo Highlights Private Walking Tour, except one. We’ve saved one of the best for last, the Oslo Opera House. Hopefully, now you can see what we mean by “sculptures, polar adventurers and icebergs.”
