Oslo Nature Walks: Forest to FjordBook this tour now
OSLO. 4hrs. Are you a true nature lover, looking for a Norwegian adventure? Stop looking! Oslo Nature Walks, Forest to Fjord, is the hike for you. Explore a ski jump, thick forests, wooden houses, viewpoints and a lake - ready to hike?!
Put on your best walking shoes and meet us for a hike out of the ordinary. We are about to experience Europe’s largest urban forest on our Oslo Nature Walk: Forest to Fjord tour! Be prepared for hilltop views - like the ones in the movies - pristine lakes and wooden cottages.
Starting with a metro ride from sea level to 500 meters above the city and fjord, our hike starts with Holmenkollen Ski Jump, a place for Nordic winter sports. Inspired by the stunning view, it's time for a hike. Our hike begins by climbing through a forest consisting of thousands of kilometres of hiking paths, known as Oslo “marka”. After 30 minutes of pure Norwegian joy, also known as walking through nature, a row of wooden houses built in the 1800s in a classic Norwegian architecture style appears. We have arrived at Frognerseteren. Time to grab lunch (not included) at the café and recharge the batteries before we continue on our way.
Back on the path, we're are heading to the viewpoint Vettakollen, a destination where many Oslo locals hike to, and now it’s your turn! Along the way, we'll pass through deep forest, rocky passages and unpaved, earthen paths. After enjoying the view, we'll continue to one of Oslo’s prettiest lakes where you can cool off with a swim. A welcome reward after hard work, say hello to the shores of Sognsvann. Take a dip, or dip your toes in (it's not a lake along the equator), dry off and enjoy that last breath of fresh air, before you know it, your Oslo Nature Walks: Forest to Fjord is at an end. Give yourself a high-five as we drop you off at Karl Johans gate, back in the city centre.
