OSLO. 4hrs. Do you love outdoor life and want to see the nature of Oslo? Then join us for a hike! Oslo Nature Walks: Island Hopping in the Oslo Fjord, takes you on a hike covering three islands in Oslo: Hovedøya, Lindøya, and Gressholmen!
Be prepared for stunning views, water, and a few hours of active sightseeing of three islands located nearby the city centre of Oslo, in the Oslo Fjord! Our hike begins with a scenic ferry ride to the island of Hovedøya. Being a place of history, enjoy stories about English monks who came to the island to set up what became a powerful cloister. Hike through sheep pastures and birch forests before we stop at a beach, stretch our legs and enjoy the view. Before you know it, it’s time to hop back on the ferry and continue our hiking adventure!
Next stop: the island of Lindøya, a true vacation paradise during summer! The island is filled with traditional wooden houses, brilliant flowers, cosy gardens and gorgeous scenery. Is your stomach is starting to rumble? It’s time for a picnic lunch on the beach (not included), surrounded by the fjord and the hills of Oslo. If this doesn’t make you fall in love with the Norwegian landscape, we don’t know what will!
Rejuvenated from our lunch break, it's time to discover our third and final island - Gressholmen. All three islands we see are different from one another, Gressholmen offering sea cliffs, hidden beaches, and thick forest. If you’re feeling a little sweaty after the hike, a swim in the Oslo Fjord might be of interest. No Norwegian hiking experience is complete without cooling down with a refreshing swim. Don’t be a chicken! The gulf stream makes this water some of the warmest in all of Northern Europe.
When you’re dry, we'll take our final ferry ride back to the city centre and show you the most iconic spots on our approach to the dock. Back in town, your Oslo Nature Walks: Island Hopping in the Oslo Fjord is complete!
