OSLO. 3hrs. Let’s go down to the river, down to the river we go…and see the alternative Oslo by bike! Our Oslo Off the Beaten Path bike tour shows you Oslo’s amazing waterfalls and the bohemian, artsy part of the city. Off we go!
Climb up on the saddle of your bike and release the brakes, it’s time to discover an alternative side of Oslo! On our Oslo Off the Beaten Path by Bike tour, we take on some of the coolest parts of Oslo - Grünerløkka and its neighbouring river, Akerselva.
Kicking off from the city centre, we'll be greeted by the Oslo Opera House, giving you a great view of this astonishing Oslo landmark. Around the corner from the Opera, new buildings and public areas are sprouting everywhere. One of these is Sørenga Beach, a local bathing spot in the Oslo Fjord where you can sunbathe and go for a swim (perhaps it's a warm, sunny day and you want to return here later?!). From new to old, we leave behind the newly constructed areas to go back to Oslo's roots, Gamlebyen or the Old Town. Here, we find ruins of Medieval Oslo ready to share tales of where the city was once located. After taking time to appreciate Old Oslo, we hop back on our bikes to check out the river that divides Oslo in two: Akerselva River!
Entering the neighbourhood know to be trendy, hip and once home to artists such as Edvard Munch, we have reached Grünerløkka. We’ll see everything from powerful waterfalls, buildings from the former industrial area, and facades covered in street art. Take a break at Mathallen, the super cool food hall in the neighbourhood of Vulkan (please note it is closed on Mondays) to recharge your energy before we continue peddling along the rest of the tour. Before you know it, we're no longer off the beaten path of Oslo, and we're riding through the central city centre area again, making our way back to our starting point.
Tour Includes: Guide / Bike Rental / Helmet
Please note: We will be biking mostly on flat surfaces as well as on a few hills located along the river, making frequent stops. We recommend bringing a bottle of water with you on tour.
