STOCKHOLM. 6hrs. Live it up like royalty! Put on your nicest frock and allow us to escort your majesty around town for a full overview of the city including the Stockholm Royal Palace and the Cathedral. Palaces, Priests and Pomp!
Spend the day like a true royal at the grand Royal Palace, with the priests of the Cathedral and the pomp the Vasa ship at the Vasa Museum. Dress yourself up for a majestic tour of Stockholm, including the city districts of Södermalm, Gamla stan, Norrmalm, Östermalm and Djurgården.
We step right into the king’s official residence - the Royal Palace of Stockholm. See the state apartments, where royals have partied for centuries, and the guests apartments, where the world’s leaders crash during their visit to the city. Of course you will get properly introduced to the Swedish Royal Family, including the current King Carl XVI Gustav, his wife, Queen Silvia and their three children.
Next door we find the Cathedral (Storkyrkan), noted not only to be Stockholm’s second oldest building, but also a place of opportunity, this is where a gym instructor became a prince.
Both of these jewels are located in the settings of Gamla stan or Old Town, as we would say in English. Fresh air, medieval buildings and hidden alleys are key ingredients in our stroll of the area.
While on the royal theme, we continue to Royal Djurgården. The three masts sticking out of a building are attached to the world’s biggest jigsaw puzzle - the Vasa Ship - welcome to the Vasa Museum. In the 1600s, it was built to be the crown and glory of the Swedish navy… which lasted only 20 minutes. A for effort!
By the end of this tour you will understand why these three p’s are anything but ‘lagom’.
