Stockholm Pride is Scandinavia’s largest pride festival – a beloved event that takes place for one week every year. From 31st of July to 6th of August it’s time for 2017’s addition.
That our expectations are super high for each Pride Week is not that weird; it’s one of the biggest celebrations taking place in Stockholm throughout the year and it always includes various fun and important events. Even though there are activities spread over the whole city (known as Pride City), there are two main venues for Stockholm Pride. Pride House, in Kulturhuset Stadsteatern (Sergels torg) is where you’ll find seminars, lectures and talks. Pride Park, on Östermalms IP, is where you’ll find comedy acts, music, restaurant and bars. On Saturday the 5th of August, the highlight of the week takes place – the Pride Parade. The Parade route is 4,3 kilometers long and takes approx. 2 hours to walk. If you don’t want to join the parade, you can watch it from the side. The route of the parade, that starts at 13.00, is Kungsholmstorg – Norr Mälarstrand – Hantverkargatan – Stadshusbron – Tegelbacken – Rödbodtorget – Vasagatan – Kungsgatan – Sturegatan – Lidingövägen – Östermalms IP.
You can find more information, purchase tickets and much more on Stockholm Pride’s website. Happy Pride!
