Copenhagen is full of sights and delights, including mermaids, castles, and canals. On our Copenhagen From Land to Sea, we “sea” them all. Join us on this Copenhagen city centre walking tour combined with a small-group canal cruise.
The story about the tour
Are you ready for a few hours of everything, Copenhagen? This may be your first encounter with the Danish capital; we want it to be the best! This all-in-one shore excursion, our Copenhagen From Land to Sea Private Walking Tour, gives a complete overview of the city.
We start on land, walking past the Citadel, one of the best-preserved fortresses in Northern Europe. Nowadays, this 1600s military installation has an exceptional neighbour to protect. She’s dressed in bronze and rests quietly on her hip… can you guess who we’re talking about? Soon enough, we will meet a lady you may have seen before – Den Lille Havfruen or the Little Mermaid.
Bid farewell to the little statue as we revel in regality at a few royal highlights of Copenhagen on a leisurely promenade to Copenhagen’s old town. Ravaged by fire and war, parts of the old city have triumphed and welcomed us today. We’ll stroll along cobblestone streets and by must-see sights when finally we arrive at one of the ultimate must-sees of all time. Welcome to Nyhavn, famous for its brightly coloured townhouses from the 16- and 1700s, located on the waterfront. Off we go, walking by the two rows of houses everyone drops their jaws at and says, “I want to live here!” As we round the corner of the Royal Danish Playhouse, it’s time to take to the sea!
From the water, say hello to the sights we have yet to see by land with a small-group canal tour. Can you name a few? How about Amalienborg and Christiansborg Palace, Christianshavn Canal, and The Black Diamond? When your cameras are full of photos to select your next social media post from, we arrive back to land and finish our shore excursion a few minutes walk from the dock at the city’s largest square, Kongens Nytorv (the King’s New Square). There you have it, Copenhagen from Land to Sea!
