The story about the tour

During our Nordic Experience food tour, you will be given a fantastic opportunity to savour samples of pickled herring, reindeer, cheeses and marinated salmon – of course, with suitable drinks to go with it! All in the settings of Södermalm, home to Stockholm’s most exciting food scene, which includes both the classics and the experimental, which offer new culinary experiences firmly rooted in the Nordic tradition.

We take not only eating but also drinking seriously in this neck of the woods, and there is a downright ritual to go along with our traditional schnapps that accompanies some of the dishes on this tour. Your guide will, among other things, introduce you to the classic drinking song “Helan Går” (pronounced roughly as Hell and Gore…), which will come in handy should you ever be invited to any Swedish family gathering, midsummer’s party or any other occasion that involves hard liquor.

While eating, drinking and singing your way through Södermalm, you will hear amazing stories of the chefs and bakers who have created all the fantastic food you get to try and who take flavours with utmost seriousness. Digest your impressions and culinary experiences while walking from restaurant to restaurant with your guide while exploring the area on foot.

Please note
The majority of this tour takes place on Södermalm, where you will have to walk both up and down hills. We suggest wearing comfortable walking shoes.
