Journey from modern city to old town to countryside, all in one day. How? With our Oslo & Norsk Folkemuseum Private Walking Tour, of course! Immerse yourself in Norway’s history, culture, and customs and channel your inner Norwegian.
The story about the tour
Are you in Oslo for a day (or a few) and want to see all of Norway while channelling your inner Norwegian? On our Oslo & Norsk Folkemuseum Private Walking Tour, you’ll be introduced not only to the history of Oslo but also of Norway. Better yet, you’ll be able to see it up close and touch history at the Norsk Folkemuseum. Mixing history with customs and culture, this walking tour will cover all the main sights and stories of the Norwegian capital and the country itself. Looking through a window into the past, we’ll journey from a modern city to an old town to the pristine countryside of Norway.
Beginning in the heart of the city centre of Oslo includes the full spectrum of both the jungle and the arctic waters, tigers and icebergs, and everything in between. We’ll see a favourite watering hole of famous Norwegian artists such as Henrik Ibsen, where and how the locals go to celebrate Constitution Day, and where you can pick up a boat or ferry to enjoy the exquisite natural surroundings of Oslo.
Once we’ve seen the city centre of Oslo, we’ll jump on the bus to the Bygdøy peninsula, getting the feeling of the countryside while still in Oslo. Stepping through the entrance is like stepping back in time. In a short amount of time, we’ll walk through all of Norway, covering the north to the south, seeing a stave church, farmsteads, and an old town, giving you a taste of Norwegian history and culture through the centuries.
After a few hours, we hope you’ll be so well acquainted with Oslo and Norway that you’ll continue channelling your inner Norwegian and come back to explore more!
