Are you searching for a tour of medieval tales and royal gossip? Search no more! On our Stockholm’s Old Town & Royal palace Accessible Private Walking Tour, we’ll uncover the many royal hot spots in the Old Town, including the Royal Palace.
The story about the tour
Wondering what the dining room of a king looked like in the 1700s? Or where do the Nobel laureates dine the day after the award ceremony? We can show you! We’ll put your imagination to rest as we visit the Royal Palace in Stockholm on our Accessible Private Walking Tour of the Old Town & Royal Palace.
Our tour sets off from the Royal Opera in the direction of the beautiful medieval district of town and the footsteps of royalty. As we make our way along the even sidewalks leading us toward the Royal Palace, we’ll uncover many of the royal hot spots in the Old Town. Before long, modern sidewalks transform into narrow, cobblestone streets. Once in the Old Town, we take the least bumpy roads to see The Riddarholmen Church, Stockholm Cathedral and the statue of St. George & the Dragon culminating with our arrival at the Royal Palace.
Upon arriving at this baroque powerhouse, we will enter the palace and check out The Royal Apartments (accessible via elevator for manual wheelchairs only). We’ll make our way through centuries of royal living, including dinner parties, ceremonies and slumbering chambers (aka state bedrooms). If you prefer to leave the opulent apartments behind or cannot use the elevator inside the Royal Palace, we suggest swapping it for The Royal Armoury. The oldest museum in Sweden, The Royal Armoury, is an exciting place to hear the tales and see collected treasures from centuries of royal events.
We’ll bring our regal adventure to an end in the Old Town. If selecting a morning tour time, finish our Accessible Private Walking Tour of the Old Town & Royal Palace with the possibility to catch the beginning of the changing of the guards.
