Sustainable Stockholm

Is Stockholm a green capital? With one-third greenery, 98% of waste recycled, and 760km of bike lane – you bet! On our Sustainable Stockholm Private Walking Tour, we walk through green spaces and talk about the city’s many green places!

The story about the tour

Want to play a game? Try to guess the country. We’ll go first! The land that we are thinking of ranks first in the EU in consuming organic foods and leads the way in recycling drinking cans and bottles. It gets the highest share of its energy from renewable sources and has fashion retailers that are world leaders in using organic cotton. If we are sure this place exists? Of course! Last clue… Greta Thunberg! Ahh, Switzerland, no wait… Sweden!

You guessed it! We are in Stockholm, Sweden, and on our Sustainable Stockholm Private Walking Tour. Starting in Kungsträdgården, we set off through the city centre. We pass the Swedish Parliament and continue to Skeppsholmen, where we board a local ferry to our final destination, the island of Djurgården. Along the way, we’ll cover all topics sustainable from the Swedish government, which has allocated SEK 400 million for research and development of technology that supports the environment to city planning, including the self-sufficient cities of tomorrow. We’ll also cover subjects such as cyclists, one of the cleanest (and tastiest) tap waters globally, the European Green Capital Award and “Flygskam”, to mention a few more.

After exploring the city centre, we’ll end on the island of Djurgården, part of the world’s first National City Park, Ekoparken. Known as the green lung of Stockholm, it’s the perfect place to experience the nature that surrounds the city (not to mention the many museums that are found here). If you’re looking for a tour on a green theme, discussing the many things sustainable in Stockholm and Sweden, then our Sustainable Stockholm Private Walking Tour is the tour for you!
